Unfortunately Paris

Paris is one of the 'must visit' cities still on my list, at least in this lifetime. A few weeks ago I thought I was nearing my way to fulfilling that dream. A very good friend in Manila who has also been planning to visit France suddenly found herself all alone and no one to go with. When I learned this, I quickly grab the latest paper and noted that the ticket price to Paris is so cheap at less than a thousand Sing dollars. I thought wow, that is truly amazing! It is actually priced almost the same as going to Delhi.

So there i was plotting to forego my promised Delhi visit to Goofy in exchange for what might be 'once in a lifetime' travel to Paris with a close friend. I was so excited that I quickly searched the various sites about Paris and France. I also did a quick calculation of my remaining LOA so I can maximize this trip. Even Carmen was so excited for me and she said that she will get in touch with her friend there to bring us around the city. Wow, free tourist guide! What more can you ask for?

Unfortunately, i don't think it is meant to be. The excitement and the joy I felt lasted only for one day. Not even longer than that. Suddenly, all things are pressing down on me bringing me farther and farther away from my dream trip to Paris. So much so that I had to write an email today to my dear friend to tell her that at the rate things are going, it would be impossible for me to join her this time around.

Well I hope this means that i will get to visit Paris with Goofy soon. Or perhaps not at all. The latter thought is pretty hard to swallow and accept. Not if all your life you have dreamt of one day walking along this so romantic city. Or perhaps this means that I really should go back to India soon. In the meantime, I would continue to wish and pray for the dream trip to Paris. Vive la France!
