Another friend has just left us....

2006 seems to be a year of letting go and moving on. Another good friend of mine has just left Singapore, after five years of stay here. However, unlike Mitz, who only had Sheila and I, Rachel had a bunch of her friends to send her off. This I think helped to make the sending off less emotional. It helps as well that Rachel is one person who is not emotional and rarely shows her crying self. In fact, up tothe last minute, she had this 'friendly quarrel' with Mei Mei. They have always been like cat and dog of our group.

I will definitely miss Rachel, especially as she has assumed the position of our group's Events Director. She is the one who always organizes activities for all of us, on a monthly basis. We certainly did not want her to relinquish her post, though she has protested that how can she still do this in Geneva. We said that since she may not be that busy in Geneva, she can certainly still do events management for all of us. Well let us see what will happen to us now that she has left Singapore.

Well I hope Geneva offers her a much better life and perhaps an opportunity as well to meet someone who will sweep her off her feet, or should I say her make her head over heels in love such that she will dare to risk again. Perhaps even if it means another LDR for her again.

Rachel is one person who is fun to be with, and very caring and goes out of her way to take care of her friends. That is why in her five year stay here, she managed to accumulate quite a good number of friends, both close and not too close.

Hahahahaha....We gave Lind a hard time with our sharing about those LDRs that have not worked, both from personal experience as well as those of people who know. But then again, maybe it was meant to be.....

And I hope she does not get to know yet, something that I thought I would not be doing again. Promise Rachel, I will tell you one day soon.

So to a dear friend who has been a good companion and a close friend to me for the past three years, a big thank you for the good times we had. I will certainly miss your singing, miss you as my movie buddy, and all your questions.

But am sure our paths will meet again...sometime soon...maybe there in Geneva or in Paris or maybe somewhere in Asia again!

A big hug to you Rachel! And kudos for being such a wonderful and loving friend!
