Second visit to Jakarta

Thank God my second trip to Jakarta is turning out to be quite nice. This time around no more hassles for me at the airport and no getting sick on the plane. Tho for a brief moment I had an interesting experience at the immigration when I was asked if I have a return ticket. LOL! As if I would want to stay longer than I have to.

This time around I stayed at the outskirts of Jakarta, in that area where the upper class and the upper middle class live. Nice neighborhood though horrendous traffic in the evening. And no proper pedestrian walkway much less proper zebra to cross over.

At least this time around I was able to visit one interesting site here. The national monument to celebrate their independence from the Dutch colonizers. They built a tower inside the park. But we went there in the evening and my digicam had no batteries anymore, so no nice pic of that place.

The hotel we stayed at is indeed very nice, small but well kept and there is free broadband and wireless connection for FREE. Imagine that for five days I got to surf and check mails without paying a single rupiah. Amazing indeed! I like this hotel more because of this. Plus, the food is nice and they have a variety of food to choose from.

I have found a corner nook inside the coffee shop as my office space while am here. Good view of the sun outside and good wireless connection too plus a socket for my laptop. And free drinks, at least water. LOL!

Overall, I must say this time around, Indonesia has redeemed itself from my 'list of horror cities' I have visited before. Now I can untick it from this list and can now look forward to visiting it again. Tho perhaps not that soon.
