F1 c-raze in Singapore

(this is the view from the outside of the F1 race circuit, for people like me who found ourselves lucky enough to have come out of our office when the practice session started last night and we had an okay view of the F1 cars in different colors!)

I have never been a fan of car races and have not thought about F1 till it came to Singapore this year and of course since my bao bei is in the same industry, I have been 'indoctrinated' into thinking about it. Well I had no choice at some point especially as the first F1 race in Singapore was going to happen very near our office location and there was a lot of commotion and a few major re-routing of the roads. In fact this week as the F1 was about to start, I emailed my boss with a memo detailing what I called, 'my team's F1 crazy week schedule', wherein I outlined that I will be working elsewhere other than our Suntec office because of the race. But alas, I could not afford to miss being at the office yesterday (Friday) which in a way turned out quite well because I had a chance to hear the roars and the blasts of the F1 car engines as well as had a good glimpse of the cars as they turned from the Suntec/Marina pit to the Esplanade area. F1 cars of different colors, red, orange, black and silver, yellow and green passed us so fast that the only way I know they are coming are when the sound got so loud and then in a split second, they were gone.

Unfortunately, the vantage point we had was soon discovered and the organizers started to cover the area with very thick black thingy, that made it impossible to even have a glimpse of the F1 cars practicing. Oh well, at least Meanne and I managed to satisfy our craving to get to hear the sounds of the F1 cars passing as well as had a good glimpse of these v fast cars. We even managed to have Kuya Enzo and Ate Cel see these spectacular cars which I only have seen previously on TV.

Hopefully, next year, I will still be around when the next F1 night race comes back again to Singapore.
