Holiday with Mom, part 1 and 2, Singapore and Macau

mom is turning 70 this year

as my mom turns 70 this year, i thought of making this year memorable for her...i wanted her to experience the thrill and joy this wandering feet have been experiencing the past few years....traveling to different countries and seeing old friends and meeting new ones along the way....

my mom likes to travel too...i am amazed that she continues to dream of things she would like to have and of things she would like to do in her life....so this year i have decided to make one of her dreams come true....to allow her to travel to places she has not been...

first stop was singapore....last time she was here was five years ago....this time she came here with my two cousins....it was my mother's day gift to her!

second stop was macau....first time we traveled together...just the two of us...first time for her to go up on a tower....for a while she felt so scared and a bit dizzy....i had to assure her that it is okay....to not be afraid as we are quite safe up there...

a different kind of journey...

a few days from now im turning a year older...the past year has been an amazing year for me....managed to travel to a few nice places (china, south korea, india, malaysia, indonesia, australia and macau)....the travel has been a bit tiring...physically as well as emotionally....however, am thankful i have had a chance to travel esp as part of work....

looking back, i feel blessed and thankful that i have been to so many places and visited some friends and met new ones along the way....the journey i must say has been hectic but wonderful..every picture i took leaves a memory that i can share with my family and friends. i can truly say that this feet of mine have indeed been walking quite far already....lol!

but the one thing i find amazing this past year, is to be able to meet someone, fall in love again and have an almost year long relationship...for me this is the most amazing journey i have made this past year.....it was a journey of my heart....to allow my heart to feel again...to love someone from afar...inspiring me to look forward to a different journey...unbelievable but so true!

as i begin another year for this wandering soul, i wish the journey of my heart will continue....and maybe both of us will start our own journey together...weaving our own paths and plotting our own routes in this journey called life!

Macau holiday with Mom (part 2)

Macau holiday....

i lost my umbrella in macau

except for that unfortunate incident when i left my umbrella in the cab, the macau trip with my mom was quite fun. this trip was a first in several ways. first time i took a tiger airways flight from clark (manila). first time for me to visit macau. and first time i had a holiday with my mom-well at least just the two of us. it turned out to be quite fun for both of us. and she did all the shopping while i was just happy to indulge her.

then my umbrella was left behind in the cab...and for a few moments my mood changed drastically....i felt so sad and so bad.... then i realized why would i let a little thing like losing an umbrella affect the otherwise happy and fun day i was having with my mom...especially as that was our last day in macau....so i made a decision to let go of my umbrella...tho it was an expensive one and thanked God that it is only that umbrella that got lost there...nothing else...and we had gained so much....

and the funny thing is when i was about to leave manila i managed to get another esprit umbrella in a much nicer color (my faves pink, orange and purple) and at a much lower price. i guess that experience in macau should have taught me something...about letting go of things i cannot control...maybe that umbrella of mine needed to move on....and be with someone else...to keep someone else warm against the heat of the scorching sun in macau....or the rain when it comes...

i always appreciate when things of this kind happen to me....as i learn v fast and hopefully can practice it in similar instances...
